I love music and love writing about it. I have a passion for the arts and the writing skills needed to increase sales and build an audience.

I have been a member of American Writers and Artists, Inc. since 2006 and joined AWAI’s “Circle of Success” in 2009. Circle of Success is an intensive two-year, skill-building program that allows me to expand my copywriting skills and master the key elements of successful direct-response promotions, both online and in print.

In addition to my experience writing copy, I play the trumpet and have a BA in music and English from Lawrence University and Conservatory of Music. During college (and now), I performed in chamber music groups, wind ensemble and jazz band. I took extensive courses in the history of western music, jazz history, and the history of modern music. This experience and deep knowledge of music will make it possible for me to connect with music lovers.

Interest in art

When I started my freelance copywriting company in 2008, my very first client was photographer and digital artist, Michelle Stump. Michelle owns a fine art greeting card company called, The Harp of the Spirit. I wrote stories that dramatized her creative process and showed off her talent. Once the stories were published, she used them to create opportunities for herself. She showed the first article I wrote to the owner of an art supplies store, who gave her a solo show. I then wrote a series of articles to promote the show.

I believe every artist has a special story–a story that will capture the imagination of collectors and art lovers. I take the time to interview artists and bring out this story.
